adidas and Yohji Yamamoto look to prepare its loyalists for the Winter season with the revealing of their next footwear model called the Kyoi Trail. Herr/Dam Adidas Y-3 Looking to reinterpret the traditional trail runner, Y-3 champions its minimalist approach by combining heavy textile and leather bases with panels of suede and mesh sprawled across its upper with bulbous toothy SEEULATER outsoles to help outlast rugged terrain and severe weather conditions. The signature exaggerated dimension persist with the exterior heel-cap that partly covers the stitched signatures of the Japanese designer himself, which are embroidered across its lateral panels.

Though it may lack the Superstar‘s most significant feature, the Adidas Y-3 Rea is still very obviously inspired by the shoe’s design. Not all is totally faithful, though. The sole, specifically, proffers a two-piece platform whose lower half tints a deep yellow. This is shared by the black and white colorways alike, both of which are built out of a premium leather that’s tumbled much more than your average Superstar. Then, the “Y-3” stamp of quality hits the heel, branding alongside the insole’s subtler text.

Some might argue that the futuristic ethos of adidas’ 4D technology clashes with the traditional concept of Yohji Yamamoto’s mainline, though the designer’s more forward-leaning Shoppa på Adidas Y-3 imprint conversely serves as a prominent figure within the cutting edge techwear subculture. In what is effectively a seamless fusion, Spring/Summer 2019 ushers back in the RUNNER 4D though dressed in a bold red-dyed double-layer knit.

As their summer-long celebration of 30 years of Torsion tech rolls along, adidas has enlisted the help of Yohji Yamamoto’s Köp Adidas Y-3 to put their signature spin on the iconic support system, and they’ve done just that by equipping the new ZX Torsion with their signature black and white color scheme. Equal parts athletic and elegant, these bold shoes offer an upper that’s constructed of black mesh and overlaid with a rising and falling black suede mudguard.
